Research Vault Beta is an underground Awakened Inquest facility located in the Dabiji Hollows. There, they are experimenting on the Scarab Plague and rats . The beta is open to all Guild Wars 2 accounts, including Play-for-Free accounts, and offers exploration of the open world as well as access to the Fractals of the Mists instanced group content. There is an option to pick either World vs. World or Player vs. Player as well. Once the event ends, all characters and progress will be reset. As from my experience with other beta in GW2 everything will be copied from a default state (you will get a lot of containers that one need to open and start with base amount of Gold and some other currencies that are needed for testing out how story progress and how map events will work) and after beta have ended that account will be reset It's conceivably possible that someone either came up with the name after the beta ended and grabbed it, or saw my name, liked it, and grabbed it, but it's weird enough I figured I'd check here to see if this was a known bug with beta characters, and how long it might take to get released, before I wasted a name change contract on a variation.
